Nutella Smores Bars!


These cookies are definitely one of the best things I've ever come up with in the kitchen! I thought, "Everyone loves Smores, so why not a Smores cookie... but with Nutella!!!" Ding ding ding... we have a winner! The crust turned out to be the perfect blend of crunchy graham cracker crust and tender shortbread cookie, the Nutella stays gooey, and the marshmallows have a slight crunch on top while staying soft underneath! OH-MY-GOODNESS! It really doesn't get any better than this!

Nutella Smores Bars
Makes 12 small bars

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg yolk
2/3 cup Nutella (or as much as you want)
1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows

1. stir together butter, vanilla, and egg yolk
2. add sugar, flour, and crumbs and mix with your hands until well-combined
3. pat into the bottom of a 8x8 square baking dish and bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until golden brown
4. spread Nutella across the entire top of the crust
5. sprinkle mini marshmallows evenly over the top of the Nutella layer and press down gently to push them into the chocolate a little bit
6. Broil in the oven on low (watching the whole time) until the marshmallows are slightly melted and nicely browned
7. cut into bars and try not to eat them all in one sitting! :)

  2. OOOO BOY...THESE LOOK TOO GOOD. I'M IN TROUBLE JUST LOOKIN' AT THEM. I THINK I NEED A TIME OUT.
