Nutella Stuffed French Toast

For Valentine's Day I decided to make my Valentine's a yummy sweet breakfast before we headed to church, and thought Nutella stuffed french toast would be perfect! It was amazing! A slight crunch on the outside and warm gooey Nutella oozing out of the middle... definitely a sweet way to start the day with my sweethearts!

Nutella Stuffed French Toast
Serves 4-6

12 pieces of sliced bread (I used buttermilk white bread)
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup half and half
4 eggs
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cardamom
1 tablespoon sugar
1 jar of Nutella

1. spread Nutella thickly between two pieces of bread and press together, like a sandwich. Do the same for all remaining slices of bread and then set aside.

2. in a bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and cardamom until thoroughly mixed
3. heat butter in a frying pan over medium heat until melted and bubbly
4. dip each Nutella sandwich in the egg/milk mixture and place in the frying pan

5. cook for about 5 minutes on each side, until bread is cooked through and slightly crisp
6. top french toast with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and serve immediately! Enjoy! :)
