Pesto and Peas Pasta Salad

This pasta salad is yummy and super quick and easy to make! We eat it often once the weather turns warmer and I love that it has all your food groups in one tasty dish!
Pesto and Peas Pasta Salad
Serves 8

1 box Farfalle (bow-tie) pasta, cooked al dente
1 1/3 cups (11 ounces) pesto sauce
1 bag frozen peas ( ounces), cooked
2 chicken breasts, cooked and chopped into small pieces (optional)

1. cook pasta until almost al dente, throwing the peas in the pot for the last five minutes or so of cooking
2. drain off the water and add pesto sauce and chicken to the hot pasta and peas
3. toss gently to coat everything without smashing the peas
4. serve warm or chilled!

(This also makes a delicious vegetarian dish when you leave out the chicken- which is what we do a lot of the time!)
