Pesto Parmesean Breadsticks

These soft, warm, flavorful breadsticks were delicious dipped in our hot soup for dinner the other night! The Munchkin had fun helping me 'paint' on the pesto and sprinkle the cheese on top and we both enjoyed biting into the bits of crisp Parmesan baked onto the outside once they were done!

Pesto Parmesan Breadsticks
Makes about 2 dozen

16 ounces of prepared pizza dough ( I used Trader Joe's to save time)
1/4 to 1/2 cup (as desired) pesto
1/2 to 2/3 cup (as desired) freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1. roll out pizza dough into a 12x12 inch square
2. brush with a thin layer of pesto and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese across the top
3. cut into 12 1-inch strips then cut across the middle of each strip to create 24 strips of dough
4. take each strip of  dough and twist into a breadstick, stretching slightly as you do, and place on a greased baking sheet
5. bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown and enjoy warm!
