Traditional Hummus

My 2 year old has been eating hummus since she was a little over a year old- she LOVES it! Although she'd be happy to just eat it with a spoon, we usually spread it in a thick layer over a whole wheat tortilla and roll it up into a tube for her to munch on. She loves the taste and I love that it is packed with protein, iron, and fiber for her growing body!

Traditional Hummus
Makes 2 cups

2 cans garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons tahini
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup lemon juice

1. In a food processor, combine all ingredients and process until smooth.
2. Serve immediately with pita bread and cut veggies, or keep refrigerated for up to 5 days.
