Potatoes are a frequent addition to combination baby foods since they thicken up more watery veggie purees so nicely and don't have too much nutritional value on their own. But when introducing them to baby for the first time, they need to be served on their own and this is a super easy way to make them! Whether you're making these for baby's first taste, using them as a base to mix in other pureed veggies, or even serving them as a side dish for an older baby, these mashed potatoes are creamy and delicious! 1 Russet Potato
1. Wash well under running water.
2. Poke holes all over the potato, using a fork (this lets out steam as it cooks).
3. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-60 minutes until tender when pierced with a fork.
4. Scoop out the soft flesh and mash with a fork, or puree in a food processor until smooth, thinning with breast milk or formula to achieve the appropriate consistency for your baby.
