Funfetti Cake Batter Dip
I found this recipe on Pinterest and although I was skeptical at first, I made for for me and the Munchkins to snack on the other day. Who doesn't love funfetti cake batter, right?! And it's "healthy" since it's made out of yogurt! :) To my surprise, it really did taste like funfetti cake batter! It was amazingly yummy! We dipped fruit, graham crackers, and animal crackers in it and licked the bowl clean afterwards. You've gotta try it for yourself...
Funfetti Cake Batter Dip
Serves 1-2
3 tablespoons funfetti cake mix powder
2 tablespoons yogurt, plain or vanilla flavor
1 tablespoon whipped cream (cool whip works too)
1. In a small bowl mix together the cake mix and yogurt until smooth.
2. Gently fold in the whipped cream until combined.
3. Serve with fruit, graham crackers, or animal crackers to dip and enjoy your party in a bowl. :)

plain yogurt or vanilla?
ReplyDeleteI have used both plain and vanilla yogurt and we liked it with vanilla a bit more since it was sweeter and not so tangy as the plain. :)
DeleteThis dip is only 3 weight watcher points!
DeleteWhen you say whipped cream do you mean cool whip or actual whipping cream?
ReplyDeleteCool whip will work, but I used homemade whipped cream since I had some in the fridge- the whipped cream that comes in the aerosol can works too. Enjoy!
DeleteThis sounds like such a wonderful idea! I have dear friends that LOVE funfetti cake. I was just wondering what kind of yogurt you are using? Is it flavored or plain? Thanks for the great idea! :)
ReplyDeleteI have used both but we like it with vanilla a bit more since it is sweeter and not as tangy as the plain. Hope you like it as much as we do! :)
Deletedo you prepare the funfetti cake mix as if you were making a cake? or just use the powder? silly question, i know.
DeleteYou just use the powdered cake mix, not prepared. :) I'll edit the recipe to make it more clear. Enjoy!
DeleteThank you! I made it and LOVED it!
DeleteI'm so glad! :)
DeleteThis is a great idea, since I have a baby shower coming up,it will be cute with animal crackers and fruit. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCan you make it the night before? How does it set up/seperate?
ReplyDeleteYou can make it ahead of time and just stir it up right before serving, but it tastes best if made within a few hours of eating. The whipped cream make it fluffy, so as that loses air the texture changes, but it still tastes yummy! :)
DeleteDo you think I could use this in place of funfetti frosting on top of cupcakes?
ReplyDeleteSo clever! The only thing I can think of is you'd want to wait until right before serving to frost them so it doesn't make your cupcakes soggy. I will have to try this myself- great idea! Let me know how it goes! :)
DeleteHave you ever tried using Greek yogurt or would it not work well?
ReplyDeleteIt should work perfectly! :)
DeleteI used Greek yogurt and strawberry came mix..... yummy
DeleteLooks delish! You would think sprinkles colors would spread, though...
ReplyDeleteDo you use "healthy" in quotations because it's really not that healthy??
ReplyDeleteI don't know her reasoning for putting it in quotations, but it really couldn't be that bad for you, especially if you're using Greek yogurt! Plus if you do the 3-2-1 recipe and share it with someone, you're only eating a few tablespoons :)
DeleteThis reminds me of Dunkaroos!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought of, too!
DeleteIf anyone's curious--a box of Funfetti is about 4 cups, so to make a large batch, I did one box of Funfetti, 2 2/3 cup yogurt, and 1 1/3 cup Cool Whip. I thought it tasted better after it sat for an hour or two, it tasted more like a dip then, instead of some stuff thrown into cake mix. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe! I made it for a food day at work and it was a hit!
thank you for this, I've been wondering what portions of yogurt and cool whip should be used for the whole box.
DeleteWhat do you do with the rest of the cake mix?
ReplyDeleteTo keep from wasting the rest of the mix I used the following but halved the recipe. Hope this helps.
DeleteFunfetti Milkshakes, makes 3-4 servings
Needed: 1 box of Funfetti cake mix, additional ingredients the box directions call for (except eggs), 4-5 cups milk and 4-5 scoops of vanilla ice-cream. Serve with extra sprinkles if you like!
The milkshake sounds yummy! Looking forward to trying it soon! :)
DeleteRachael- check out my other funfetti cake batter recipes! Puppy chow, cinnamon rolls, fudge, pancakes, waffles, and more... all full of delicious cake batter flavor and great ways to use up that cake mix! :) Enjoy!
Deletei would like to make a big batch for a party if i used 2 boxes, how much yogart and cool whip should i use?
ReplyDeleteI use greek yogurt (regular or vanilla) in this recipe.... it makes it a little thicker, but tastes just as great!!
ReplyDeleteI found this recipe/website via Pinterest (love that site) and decided to whip some up today. Its so easy to make and tasty too. I think I may just make a larger batch for the next family get together. Thank you for sharing!!
ReplyDeletecan this be refrigerated if i make it 2-3 days prior and still taste good?
ReplyDeleteHello. This recipe looks great. We don't get Funfetti Cake Mix Powder in this part of the world (not that I know of anyway) - Do you know what ingredients are in the mix and how we might improvise? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI used a whole box of Funfetti Cake mix powder, one container of cool whip and half of a large container of vanilla yogurt and it worked perfectly! I wanted to try it out to see if it tasted good before we took it to a party. It is delicious! I made it on Monday and it lasted in a sealed Tupperware container until Saturday! We would get a little out at a time and put it in a ramekin with some animal crackers. IT IS AWESOME! Great snack!
