Almond sheet cake



We were in the mood for something almond and sweet the other day, so I decided to try this almond sheet cake recipe from Creations by Kara. Delicious!

Almond sheet cake
Serves 12
 
1 cup butter
1 cup water
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup sour cream
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

1. Preheat oven to 375 and grease a large jelly roll pan (mine is around 12x17).
2. In a large bowl, combine sugar and flour and set aside.
3. Bring butter and water to a boil in a small saucepan, then pour over the flour and sugar and beat well.
4. Beat in the remaining ingredients and pour into prepared jelly roll pan.
5. Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes. Cool, then top with frosting. 

Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup milk
3 1/2- 4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon almond extract

1. Bring butter and milk to a boil.
2. Remove from heat and stir in the almond extract.
3. Add powdered sugar to reach desired consistency, frost cake, and enjoy!
