Homemade Honey Caramel Sauce

This is the best caramel sauce you will ever taste! Seriously! Whether you pour this sauce over desserts, dip apple slices in it, or eat it straight off the spoon, this caramel sauce is the real deal! I used honey instead of corn syrup to keep it more healthy and natural and I love the wonderful flavor it adds as well! This recipe is super easy to double or triple and it will store well in a jar in the fridge for up to two weeks!

Homemade Honey Caramel Sauce
Makes 2 cups of sauce

1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1 can of condensed milk (14 ounces)
2 tablespoons vanilla extract

1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter.
2. Add sugar, honey, and condensed milk and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
3. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 3 minutes, continuing to stir constantly.
4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. (Careful- it will sputter!)
5. Pour through a fine mesh strainer and allow to cool slightly before serving.
