Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice

Now that the holidays are right around the corner, I keep running into recipes that call for pumpkin pie spice. While I have purchased it in the past, I realized a few years ago that it was simply a combination of spices I already had in my cupboard! This recipe is an easy way to make a small (or large) amount that costs a fraction of the price and tastes exactly the same! You can make a small amount for use as a substitute in one recipe, or triple this recipe like I do and store it in a glass jar in your spice cupboard until you need it.

Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice
Makes 2 3/4 teaspoons

1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon (scant) ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1. Place all of the spices together in a small bowl and whisk gently to combine.
2. Use as needed, or store in an airtight glass jar for future use.
